Small refurbished iPhones: the compact models

As of September 16, 2026, 6 of the refurbished iPhone models we track on Back Market US have a 6.1-inch screen or smaller. The cheapest of them is the iPhone 13, at $230. Model selection comes from published hardware specifications; every price comes from our own readings.

The compact format has all but disappeared from new stock: since the “mini” models ended, the smallest iPhone sold is 6.1 inches. Refurbished is now the only place to find smaller. 6 of the models we track on Back Market US sit under that bar.

The criterion, precisely

We keep models whose screen diagonal is 6.1 inches or less, the size of the standard model since the iPhone 12. Below that, only the 5.4-inch “mini” models remain, discontinued after the 13 generation.

Indicative prices, not a guarantee

Back Market prices change often, depending on the seller, the stock and the cosmetic grade. The prices shown here are indicative and based on our latest observations. Always check the final price on Back Market before buying. How we record prices

The cheapest model in the selection is not necessarily the one in the best buying window. The “lowest” and “average” columns place today's price against each model's history.

Where this list and these prices come from

Model selection comes from published hardware specifications — screen size, connector, chip, lenses — which never change. The prices come from our own readings of the Back Market page, once or twice a day, and change constantly. We do not blur the two: we publish no price we have not observed.

Frequently asked questions

What is the smallest iPhone still available refurbished?

The 5.4-inch “mini” models are the most compact of the recent generations. Apple discontinued them after the 13 generation: they are now only found refurbished or second-hand.

Below that, you have to go back to the 4.7-inch iPhone SE, whose format and screen belong to another era.

What is the cheapest small refurbished iPhone?

As of September 16, 2026, it was the iPhone 13, at $230 on Back Market US.

One caveat: compact models that became rare do not fall like the others. Demand often exceeds supply, and the price can climb back.

Does a small iPhone always have less battery life?

A smaller body holds a smaller battery, mechanically. At equal generation, a compact model therefore lasts less than a standard model or a “Plus”.

We do not measure battery life and publish no figure on it: the real state of a refurbished device's battery depends on its past, which we do not observe.
