Get notified when a refurbished iPhone price drops: what works
Not every notification is a price alert. Some announce marketing events; others trigger only when the price you care about reaches the level you chose.

The key question: who chooses the trigger?
If the trigger is your own price threshold, the alert is personal. If the trigger is a merchant campaign, the message may go out even when the model you want did not meaningfully drop.
Newsletters and app notifications
They can be useful for major sales, but their timing is the merchant's timing. They do not reliably catch the ordinary Tuesday price move that matters for one model.
Restock alerts
A restock alert answers an availability question, not a price question. The product can come back in stock above your target price.
Threshold price alerts
A threshold alert sends one useful email when the observed price falls at or below the number you set. Its quality depends on tracking frequency and on whether your threshold is realistic.
- Set one alert per model when you are comparing options.
- Use each model's own history to choose the threshold.
- Check the final Back Market price before buying.
- Remember that a very brief drop can still disappear before checkout.
